Creative Ways to Pray With Kids…Day 5:
Gift Box Prayers
During this time of year children are eager to tell you what gifts they would like to have. They can tell you where to get it, the size, shape, color, and even the cost of it. They tend to be more in a “Give me” state than a thank you mindset. Try handing your child an empty gift box with a gift tag that reads To: (child’s/ children’s name) From: God. As they open it you may see their excitement disappear, because of its lack of contents. This is a perfect opportunity to discuss the true meaning of Christmas and say a thank you prayer to God for giving us a special gift. Jesus!
Let’s Pray
“Loving Father,
In this season of giving, and the hustle and bustle that the holidays bring, may we not overlook the greatest gift of all, Jesus! Thank you God for your indescribable gift.
In Jesus name…Amen 🙏🏾
