Creative Ways to Pray With Kids…Day 8:
Cookie Cutter Prayers
Is your child being shaped into the unique and special Little that God has created them to be or are they simply joining in with the in crowd and becoming a "cookie cutter" person. The Bible tells us to “not to conform to the pattern of the world, but rather be transformed by the renewing of the mind”. Conform means that you fashion yourself to someone else’s idea of who you are supposed to be. Being transformed means that we bring ourselves under the “obligation to undergo a complete change, which under the power of God, will find expression in character and conduct ;”( Vines Expository Dictionary).
Lay out a few cookie cutters, discuss with your children about conformity and transformation, then pray with them about the importance of not being cookie cutter. They will be shaped and molded, put in the fire, and even tested at times but with God’s help he will creatively ice them and make them unique as a baker does with a cookie.
Let’s Pray,
Our Father,
Thank you for always being there with me. Help me to be grateful for the plans you have for my life. I am excited that I get to do them with you. Help me not become comfortable and take shape as a cookie Cutter but Transform my mind and make me and mold me to became more like you.
In Jesus’ name…Amen 🙏🏾
